Learn about Tornado Forecasting with Rich Thompson

I had the chance to shake hands with Rich Thompson, the Lead Forecaster at the Storm Prediction Center, at the National Weather Association Annual Meeting in Anaheim. Rich is a very sharp meteorologist and is regarded as one of the best forecasters with the SPC.

Also, he is a great guy. It was nice to chat with him again.

He spent some time teaching (informal) forecasting classes at University of Oklahoma. This is the first – of many – on how to forecast for tornadoes.
