Hot & dry weekend, with a few storms next week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 9/20/24

High pressure will dominate through the weekend, bringing more quiet and humid conditions. Daytime highs will stay in the low to mid-90s, with nighttime lows ranging from the upper 60s to lower 70s. Humidity will be noticeable, with dew points around 70F.

By midweek, as a trough moves east, we will get another shot for rain – mainly on Wednesday. Rain will clear by Thursday, with drier conditions expected for most areas.

There’s potential for tropical development in the western Caribbean or southern Gulf of Mexico late next week into the weekend. Models are still inconsistent regarding the system’s track and timing, so stay updated on the latest forecasts as the situation develops.

Right now, model guidance is still a bit all over the road. And that is normal at this distance in time. Model guidance suggests that landfall could be any point between about Corpus Christi, Texas and Naples, Florida.

We won’t get much of a better idea until we get into next week. For now, just know that something is going to be out there next week, and we are still trying to determine where it is going to go.
