We definitely have some crazy feats of weather driving what’s gonna happen for the rest of the week. We have another piece of energy to our east, we have a massive ridge to our north and northwest, and a tropical system way to our southeast! From what I read in the briefing from NOAA, the tropical storm is supposed to intensify into a Category 1 hurricane before it hits the Lesser Antilles (they can’t catch a break), and before it hits the Greater Antilles it’s supposed to dissipate. It’s pretty abnormal to see a tropical system develop so far out in the Southern Atlantic Ocean, so this is a rare occurrence for this early in a hurricane season. The ridge is causing some much higher temperatures especially out west with temperatures in the hundreds in the desert portions of Arizona and California.
What does that mean for us? Well, with that piece of energy coming from our East, the weekend’s most likely gonna be rained out by the afternoon each day. We’ll have cloudy skies during the day leading up to the rain, dump out the rain for a few hours and we’ll repeat the cycle.
Tonight, there is a slight chance of rain coming in from an outflow to our north sparking up storms moving southward. I wouldn’t rule out your chances because the outflow might be able to push far enough south to bring us those thunderstorms that happened up in northern Mississippi.
For tomorrow, we’ll see cloud cover through most of the day starting with our low of 73. At 10 o’clock the clouds are going to remain and keep the temperature around the 80 degree mark. By 1, the clouds are still around and the temperatures will reach around 84. At 4 o’clock we’ll see rain and a couple rumbles of thunder coming in, so keep your umbrellas handy throughout the mid-afternoon with a high of 88. At 7, the temperatures will cool off slowly but the rain is still continuing until it’s all gone for the day.
Sunday will see a 50% chance of rain and possible thunderstorms, but we’ll see the same kind of pattern we see on Saturday with storms developing in the evening before fizzling out. High of 88 and low of 71.
Monday will warm up slightly with a 40% chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. High of 90 and a low of 71.
Tuesday has the same chance of rain more towards the evening with a high of 91 and a low of 72.
Wednesday continues the warming trend with a 40% chance of rain in the late afternoon to evening with a high of 92 and a low of 72.
Thursday is repeating the cycle with another 40% chance of rain and a high of 92 and a low of 73.
By Friday, we’ll see the chance of rain start to die off as we don’t see as much of that silver lining with a touch of grey (I just can’t stop with music references, can I?). 30% chance of rain with a high of 93 and a low of 73.
