The airmass that is chuck’full of humidity is shoving it’s way into South Mississippi. You will likely see some of the evidence of that this morning as you get up and moving. It will feel pretty humid and you may even catch some patchy fog across the area.
You’ll feel evidence of it, too, this afternoon. While it won’t be too warm, the humidity will make it feel like it is. Highs in the 80s, feels like temperatures in the low 90s.
That is just the beginning, too.
Moisture will continue to stream into the area from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean during the next few days. Get ready to use the AC overnight! Not because it will be “hot” but moreso because it will be so humid.
All of thise moisture, mixed with the daytime heat means a chance for a shower or storm every day. That is why the forecast looks so rainy. It isn’t that we have a bunch of cold fronts or big tropical systems rolling through. It is simply that the air is so humid that even the slightest bit of warmth causes that humid air to rise, it forms a cloud and then that cloud rains itself out.
And while there is a ton of moisture and a chance for rain every day, it doesn’t look like flooding will be a concern for the area at this point. Just a handful of good soakers, but not too much.
So, I know a lot of gardens have been getting thirsty lately. The good news is they will get a chacne to have a drink, but shouldn’t be flooded out!

Thanks! I’ve been a weather buff for many of my 70 years beginning with sitting on the porch forecasting the weather using nature. That being said, you’re the most trustworthy. Other than Daddy!
Sitting on the porch “with Daddy”
Only thing is, this time, there IS a front. It’s draped right across the middle of the state with everyone south of it getting endless rain and everyone north of it enjoying a break from the rain. Will be glad when ‘this’ stretch of rain is over!!
