South Mississippi Forecast 7/5/21

As we continue to monitor Elsa, it still looks like the storm will pass by well to the east. It is mainly a Florida peninsula problem. A lot of rain, some wind, and a bit of storm surge. This morning Elsa’s wind field shrank a bit and it looks like it’ll be passing over Cuba – the first named storm to do so since Dennis, according to a few smart tropical weather folks on Twitter.

Around here, we were able to beat back some of the anomalous moisture into the Gulf, but there will still be chances for rain in the coming days.
