South Mississippi Forecast 7/8/21: Still hot & humid!

Summertime showers and storms continue for the area as we head into and through the weekend. With Elsa exiting to the east and the little area of low pressure in southern Texas to the west, Mississippi is dealing with “tweener” weather – that is to say we are “between” two major weathermakers.

So, reasonably benign stuff will continue for the next few days.

Sure, storms may pack some heavy rain, frequent lightning and gusty wind… But nothing like they are dealing with up the East Coast or down in South Texas.

Daily Timeline

Looking at some of the short-range model data for today, I’ve probably got the chance for rain starting a bit too early. Rigth now it looks like storms may hold off from developing until after lunchtime and perhaps even until mid afternoon.
