Southern MS / AL / LA Weather Forecast – 9/27/21

Apologies for the delay. I have today and tomorrow “off” from regular work to help the girlfriend with some things around the house (you know, the ole ‘honey do’ list) and got up and started working and said, “I’ll get the forecast done after I get XX and YY done.

Then that turned into doing ZZ and AA and BB. All the sudden it was 9am!

So – apologies!

But let me tell you, if there was ever a time to be able to be a bit late with a weather forecast it is right now. Not much happening today with the weather. And during the next few days, we will have a few shots for rain, sure, but nothing too disruptive and nothing severe is anticipated.

As the ridge of high pressure that has been giving us such great weather pushes east, it will open the door for the “return flow” – as we weather people all it – to pick back up off the Gulf of Mexico.

That return flow will lead to better chance for rain starting tomorrow and lingering through the week. This will be a lot of summertime shower type stuff, but not as potent because we’ve lost a lot of the summertime heat.

On top of that, it looks like the farther west you live in the region, the better chance for rain there will be. So the parishes of Louisiana will have an overall better shot for rain than the counties in Alabama.

This pattern will hold through the week and into next weekend before the next front tries to sneak through the region.
