The first of a few fronts will slide through today. That will spark off some showers and storms. But as this first front passes, it will lose a fair amount of ‘umph’ and it may not even produce rain for some folks.
Looking at the data from the HRRR model above, notice how all the green eventually just evaporates as it tries to push through the southern MS/AL/LA region.
Once it passes by, it will leave the door open for a much cooler push of air to arrive on Saturday. And as that cooler push settles into the region, get ready to wake up Sunday morning to temperatures that are closer to mid 30s as opposed to the mid 70s out there today.
The cool down will be brief as temperatures rebound next week and get back to around 70.
Storm Timeline
It looks like the line of storms is likely to fall apart as it pushes through, which means some folks, especially closer to the coast, will have a tougher time seeing any raindrops fall from the clouds.
Once we get through a little rain today, it looks like it is smooth sailing through the weekend.
