Things look pretty good to start off the week with mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures. High pressure in control will help to keep any rain away from the area.
I know there are plenty of rumors floating around the interwebs about a “big shot of cold” coming for Thanksgiving. While I do think things will be ‘cooler than average’ later next week, it is still too early to nail down specifically when that shot of cold will arrive.
And what the weather will be like ahead of it, too.
So far (like usual) I’m going to take a more conservative approach to the forecast. It looks like the shot of cooler air behind the rain this Thursday won’t be too potent (though, there is even some wiggle room there), and neither will the shot behind this weekend’s rain.
In fact, it can be difficult – though, not impossible – to get a ‘good’ shot of cold when fronts continue to glide through the eastern US every few days. Because you can’t build cold up north because it keeps spilling south.
In order for multiple fronts to eventually lead to a big spill of cold air, you need a big pattern change aloft and up at latitude. While there are hints of that occurring, I’m not ready to jump onboard that train yet.
In the meantime, the weather looks good for the next few days!
