Fewer storms today/tomorrow, but rain returns late week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 8/29/22

During the next 48 hours we are going to go from a northeasterly flow to a northerly flow. We will end up on the eastern side of a weak ridge of high pressure in the mid-levels. This will help to limit the shot for rain the next two days a bit.

Limiting rain doesn’t mean there won’t be showers here and there, though. So keep the umbrella handy just in case.

As we move through the rest of the week and toward the weekend, the chance for rain will return as this weak ridge breaks down and moves out. In fact, it looks like Friday Night Football may end up being soggy (at the very least on the field for the players) this week. So plan accordingly.

Eyes continue to watch the tropics, but the same message stands as yesterday and the day before: puzzle pieces suggests a better chance whatever is out there stays out to sea.
