Chilly and dry through Friday, patchy drizzle possible this weekend: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast 11/17/22

A cold start for the area with temperatures hanging around in the 30s. If your kids are anything like I was, it’ll be a day where they want to wear shorts even though it is near freezing outside.

This afternoon things will warm back into the 50s, but not much higher.

The next shot for rain arrives on Saturday as a system slides by to the south down in the Gulf. Drizzle and light rain is about as bad as it’ll get as it passes.

The next ‘good’ chance for meaningful rain arrives as we move through the middle of next week. It looks like around Thanksgiving the next system will push through with a chance for showers and storms.

There is the outside shot for severe weather, but I’m not ready to jump onboard with that yet. If so, it will likely be dictated by a secondary warm front and I never like to put bets on a secondary warm front. But it is something to keep in mind and monitor.
