Drier today, more storms tomorrow: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 5/10/23

It looks like another day of isolated showers and storms across the area. Though, I actually think today will be drier than yesterday. And drier than tomorrow. So if you have outdoor plans today, you may have picked one of the better days of the week.

That said, Thursday afternoon through early Friday morning there will be another shot for storms. There’s a chance some storms will be capable of producing gusty winds and perhaps some small hail. Severe weather is less likely at this point, but it will need to be monitored.

As we move into the weekend, there’s a low-pressure system associated with an upper-level trough that’s expected to move eastward from the Rockies, which could bring cooler and drier air to the region. However, there’s a possibility of some daytime convection and popup showers and storms continuing through the weekend and heading into the next work week.

Temperatures are forecasted to be pretty warm this weekend, with some areas seeing highs in the low 90s. Overall, we’ll need to keep an eye on the forecast and stay prepared for potential storm activity.
