As we head into the weekend, a cold front is moving across the eastern US. The Great Lakes region of the Midwest and many East Coast states will see cool temperatures over the weekend, with highs in the low 60s, 50s, and even the 40s in some places after the front moves through. In addition to the cool temperatures, the front will bring precipitation to the eastern states, especially on Friday and Saturday.

Elsewhere, the Southwest and Texas will see warm to hot temperatures over the weekend. It will feel like summer in those areas, with temperatures reaching the upper 80s to 90s in Texas on Friday, and parts of southern Arizona may see 100+ degree highs on Friday. Temperatures across both regions are expected to cool down a bit by Sunday, though, and it should not be as uncomfortably hot then.

The front may also bring a Marginal Risk for severe hail and wind over the southern Atlantic states, especially South Carolina and coastal Georgia, as the line of storms passes through on Friday.

For most of the rest of the country, the weekend should provide dry weather as high pressure settles over much of the CONUS. Some showers may be possible in the Northwest and Texas on Sunday, but most states outside of the East Coast will see dry conditions over the weekend.
