Multiple shots for brief showers & storms through Saturday: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 5/2/24

Looking at the next 48 hours, it looks like we will ahve two shots for storms across the area – neither chance for rain looks particularly potent.

The first shot for rain will be leftovers from yesterday’s storms across parts of central and west Texas. These storms will be decaying as they get into the area, but will still feature some brief heavy rain, gusty wind and lightning.

Storms may begin as early as 5p and last as late as 10p tonight.

The second shot for rain will be tomorrow afternoon and early evening – same idea. Storms falling apart from the day before. The timeline for these look to be between about 2p and 8p tomorrow.

I could make the case for a repeat performance on Saturday, too. Same concept again.

By the time it is all said and done, parts of the area could see up to 1″ or 2″ of rain whil other folks may still be looking at a dry rain gauge.
