After brief cooldown, warmer by the weekend, with eyes on next week’s rain: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 6/11/24

A quick forecast this morning as I’ve got a lot on my plate this morning….

The cold front has washed out to the south. We may see a few storms try to develop closer to the coast, but it should be a drier day today. High pressure will build in, bringing “cooler” and “drier” air from the north. It’ll still be hot and humid, just not quite as bad.

Highs will top out around 90 degrees. Tonight, expect mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with temperatures dropping into the upper 50s to upper 60s near the coast.

We’re in for a mostly dry stretch of weather over the next few days. High pressure will dominate, keeping skies clear and temperatures climbing gradually. That will allow temps to rebound nicely in teh coming days. As the ridge of high pressure slides east, it will also allof for some of the Gulf humidity to sneak back into the area by this weekend.

Then next week, things get a bit more interesting as some model guidance flings some tropical moisture – or a disorganized area of low pressure – our direction from the south.
