Baseball Forecast- 7/23/24

As we start a new week we have plenty of games to forecast. Our two home teams the Yankees and the Cyclones will face some high humidity while the Renegades in Delaware will face some rain chances. Let’s check in on all the details!



New York Yankees

Tonight the second part of the Subway Series against the Mets takes place in the Bronx at 7:05pm EST. It will be a very muggy evening with temperatures in the low 80s to high 70s with humidity increasing to mid 80% by the middle innings. It will be partly cloudy throughout the whole evening with a slight chance of rain towards the end of the game. The lightning chance is up there if the scattered showers come into town late in the game. It will be slightly windy during the first few innings but the wind will decrease slightly into the later innings. At 150ft the wind will be about 10mph facing towards the left foul baseline. A very moist evening for players and spectators.

Ballpark Forecast for Tuesday at Yankee Stadium

The Subway Series continues at Yankee Stadium at 7:05pm EST. It will be a pretty warm evening with temperatures in the low 80s. Humidity will start around 70% and increase to the low 80% by the end of the game. It will be mostly cloudy at the start of the game but they will start to move out of the area as the game continues. Winds will be very light at the surface and at 150ft. This means there will be little wind effect on ball motion. There will be some scattered showers in the area but it seems like we will be all clear for the game.

Brooklyn Cyclones

The Cyclones host the Rome Emperors for their home series at 7pm EST tonight. Temperature will be at 78 degrees but it will be very humid with humidity in the mid to high 80%. loud coverage will be around 50% for the game with a low chance of any rain showers. However there will be scattered showers in the area with may give way to a slight lightning chance. Winds will be higher at the start of the game than at the end and at 150ft winds will be around 15mph. This may help the ball lift more however since the winds are facing towards home plate these effects might actually keep the ball more infield.

Ballpark Forecast for Tuesday at Maimonides Park

Wednesday’s game against the Emperors at 12pm EST will be a cloudy one with a complete overcast for the entire game. Temperatures will be around 77 degrees with humidity in the low 80%. Winds will be very light pointing out towards left field. The cloud coverage and humidity will keep the air very moist and muggy which will be quite heavy feeling. This may be uncomfortable for spectators and players alike.

Ballpark Forecast for Wednesday at Maimonides Park

Thursday night the Cyclones continue their series at home against the Emperors at 7pm EST. Temperatures will be in the low 80s with humidity around 73%. Cloud coverage will be pretty cloudy at around 60% for the game. There will be scattered showers in the area which may have lightning but most likely it will be clear in terms of precipitation. Winds at the surface will be in the single digits to start the game and increase to around 10mph towards the later innings. At 150ft winds will be at 10mph to start and in the middle innings it will be about 15mph. The winds will be pointing out towards left center field. The winds will may help increase ball motion out towards the outfield.

Hudson Valley Renegades

The Renegades start their away series against the Wilmington Blue Rocks at 6:05pm EST. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s throughout the game. It will be very humid throughout the game with humidity in the 60% range. We will be seeing overcast through the game. The game may be delayed because there is a chance for scattered thunderstorms during the scheduled start of the game. Winds will be in the single digits at the surface facing out towards center field. Be mindful of the potential for delays if you plan on attending this game.

Wednesday’s game in Wilmington against the Blue Rocks starts at 11:05am EST. Temperatures will be in the low 80s with humidity around 80%. It will be very cloud with the cloud coverage at around 90%. There is chance of a thunderstorm around 2pm which could mean if the game goes into extra innings we could see some rain and lightning. Spectators could also run into some storms on their trip back home. Winds will be fairly light pointing towards center right field which might help with ball motion outfield for hitters.

Thursday the Renegades face the Blue Rocks at 6:35pm EST. Temperatures will be in low 70s with humidity very high near 90%. There will be high cloud coverage due to thunderstorms in the area earlier in the afternoon. Some of those showers may linger into the game mostly just rain but the possibility for thunderstorms are still possible. Winds will be fairly light with some gusts nearing 15mph at the surface. Winds will be pain ting towards right field which will cause balls to move in that direction. Be mindful of the potential for delays or rescheduling for this game.
