A Warm, Dry Weekend with Humidity to Follow – Weekend Forecast for South MS 10/26/24

It’s been a very warm past few days with Halloween just around the corner. This doesn’t look to change much either, if anything, it’ll get even more humid after this weak cold front moves through over the weekend. The next several days afterwards look to be very humid and warm with highs in the mid 80s slowly dropping by the end of the weekend.

To start off, a strong subtropical high pressure zone is currently over much of the Deep South with a Canadian high soon to follow. This won’t do much for our temperatures, however we’ll be stuck between that and a western Canadian low pressure zone. What this means for us is that by the end of the weekend, we’ll have a lot of southerly inflow to remain at the surface and increase the humidity during the week.

This weekend will be calm, but much warmer than average for this time of year. Highs will reach the upper 80s during the day with little to no wind to speak of and a few clouds in the sky. Overnight, we’ll see some patchy fog until after sunrise. Starting Monday, the humidity will begin to roll in with temperatures reaching the upper 80s and winds pulling in from the South southeast. Overnight, the temperature will fall into the low 60s with southerly winds calming down.
