If you wanted a nice, cool, fall-like weekend to enjoy outside, it’s here! We’ll have some pleasant weather for the next couple of days until the week begins and a weak cold front moves in. Overall, we’ll see a warming trend over the next few days as the winds shift to the South and the dewpoints rise.
Today, we’ll have light winds due to the high pressure’s location over us. There will be few to no clouds in the sky and it’ll complement the cooler temperatures outside. Temperatures will stay around the low to mid 60s across much of the coastal South during the day. Overnight, we’ll see temperatures fall into the upper 30s to low 40s with clear skies.
Tomorrow, we’ll see a significant warmup compared to today. After the high pressure system moves east, we’ll have an influx of southerly winds bringing in more humidity across most of the Deep South. Temperatures will reach the low 70s with dewpoints reaching the 50s compared to today’s upper 30s. Overnight, due to the dewpoint, we’ll only reach the low to mid 50s with winds out of the south and clouds on the increase.
To start off the week, we’ll have a humid, windy Monday. While only partly cloudy, it won’t be enough to insulate us from the sun and warmer than average temperatures. Temps will climb into the upper 70s across the South, but the rain won’t arrive until the overnight hours. This doesn’t look to be very significant as the cold front is pretty weak, but we’ll see about a tenth to a quarter inch of rain across the area as it moves through. This should roll into central MS/LA in the late evening and around the Pinebelt by midnight and move out by early morning.
