We have another day of some quite pleasant temperatures across the Southeast today with only a few clouds in the sky. Temperatures will reach the low 70s during the day but start to warm up a bit tonight with lows in the mid 50s. This is due to the dew point creeping up from the back end of the high pressure system that was just over us yesterday. Not only that, a developing low pressure system in the central Plains will move northeast bringing us a slight chance for rain early Tuesday morning.
Starting off Monday, we’ll have temperatures rise into the upper 70s and more humid conditions. We’ll see some upper and mid-level clouds in the sky during the day. Overnight, we’ll see the clouds increase and the rain come in during the early morning hours to around sunrise with lows in the low 60s.
The best way to describe the two systems heading our way is “damp” plain and simple. Both of these systems fizzle out before they reach the coastal South, but the one on Thursday will bring more rain to areas around the mid-South. Tuesday will bring a small amount of rain to much of the South, however it will be around a quarter inch before if moves out in the morning. There’ll be a slight break with a cold front moving in on Wednesday before Thursday’s rain. Temperatures will reach the mid 70s during the day with south winds gusting.
Thanksgiving isn’t completely spared this time around with the rain moving in during the day. It’ll be on and off during the day, so plan any outdoor activities accordingly. Temperatures will hover around 70 with mostly cloudy skies. Overall, a wetter Thanksgiving.
Black Friday will be on the cooler side with the cold front moving out. Temperatures will dip into the mid 50s with the clouds beginning to clear out during the day. Overnight, some areas will reach the freezing point with a few clouds in the sky. The weekend will continue the trend with temperatures in the 50s during the day and in the low to mid 30s in the evening. Overall, it’ll be a cooling trend before a Gulf low may move in to start off December.
