Okay, so 100 posts isn’t exactly a lot. I know this. But, it feels pretty good to get here again.
Yeah, again.
Some of you may know that before I got into weather professionally, I was a sports journalist. In fact, I spent the better past of the first decade of this millenium covering sports on the air and online.
This site, http://thefivesides.com/wx, is an off-shoot of the original site, http://thefivesides.com which is the end of a long road that includes the – now defunct – sites of http://nickelblock.co.nr, http://thenickelblock.com, and http://thefivedaily.com.
The [Five] Sides has over 2,000 articles written by a handful of great sports journalists. Some are no longer in the journalism game (Michael Lederer & Matt Johnston), others are now shooting to the top of the sports journalism world (Jon Doss, Matt Harris & Jonathan Marshall).
But, before The [Five] Sides / The [Five] Daily, there were another 1,000+ articles on The NickelBlock. Written mostly by me. Between 2004 and 2008.
That’s roughly 200 articles per year. About one article every other day.
Apparently, I had a lot on my mind.
So, long story short, getting to 100 – while nice – doesn’t really mean much in the grand scheme of things. But, for whatever reason, hitting the triple digit mark does feel good.
Now I’m going to start to chase the comma again.
