Another warm one, with an outside shot for storms the next few nights: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 5/22/24

We may have some more fog this morning in low-lying areas. If you’re up early and on the roads, take it easy if you run into any reduced visibilities. You guys know the drill, slow down, extra distance between you and the car in front of you, low beams.

Otherwise, it’ll be another warm and dry day.

The next few days will be a bit more active regionally, but it may not translate to much locally. I think we will see two big clusters of storms develop across Texas and Arkansas during the next two days, with both having a shot to toss some rain our direction. But looking at the model guidance, I’m uncertain it it will actually have the ‘umph’ to make it all the way to our neck of the woods.

So I’m going to leave the forecast mainly dry, but if you live along I-20 and to the north of near I-55 and to the west, you probably have the best bet to see some rain.

We may finally see a bit of rain next week. But before the rain arrives, Sunday and Monday will be the hottest days, with highs in the low 90s and heat indices possibly reaching 105-110 degrees. This could pose a threat of dangerous heat stress, and a heat stress advisory may be issued.

Then we ease back into more seasonably warm temperatures before we heat right back up again.
