Some pretty hot weather games this weekend as all our baseball teams play home series. After the week of All-Star break we finally have some games to forecast. Let’s jump into it!
New York Yankees
Tonight the Yankees face the Tampa Bay Rays at 7:05pm EST. It will be a pretty mild night with temperatures starting in the mid 80s and cooling down to the mid 70s by the end of the game. The humidity will start out very low only around 35% but as we head into the middle innings we will see a major increase with humidity around 65%. This humidity comes with some cloud cover with cloud cover at about 50% during that period. Winds will also start to increase mid game with winds around 15 mph at 150ft for the middle to late innings. The wind will be blowing out from left field for batting practice but by game time it will be coming from right field. Enjoy the lower humidity for the first few innings because it will become more muggy as the game continues.
The Yankees play another game against the Rays on Saturday at 1:05pm EST. This game will be a pretty mild one with temperatures in the mid 80s. Humidity will be around 60% throughout the game. Cloud coverage will be between 60-75% with the clouds increasing throughout the game. Winds will start out low at around 8 mph and increase to around 14 mph at 150ft. Winds will be coming from the right baseline region which might cause for some fly balls being pushed out towards left field. There is a light chance for some rain in the first few innings but it would just be a quick drizzle if any precipitation at all.
Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays takes place at 1:35pm EST. The game will be pretty mild with temperatures in the mid 80s and humidity around 60% for the game. It will be pretty cloudy with cloud coverage around 90% for the middle innings. Winds will be light and variable at all levels. The cloud coverage will keep it pretty warm for the game but there is no real chance of rain for the game.
Brooklyn Cyclones
The Cyclones take on the Jersey Shore BlueClaws at 7pm EST. Temperatures will start in the high 70s and lower to the mid 70s as the game goes on. Humidity will slightly increase from around 60% at the start to close to 66% by the end of the game. There will be a few clouds in the sky with some light winds at the surface. At 150ft winds will be in the low 10s facing towards left infield. This could have some effects on the ball especially fly balls trying to go out to right field.
Saturday’s game against the BlueClaws at 6pm EST will be a mild one with the temperature at 79 degrees for the whole game. It will be pretty humid with humidity at around 70% for the game. It will be cloudy for much of the game but no chance of precipitation. It will be pretty windy with surface winds starting at around 15 mph and calming down to 10 mph by the final innings. Up at 150ft winds will be around 20mph for the first few innings and calming to about 15 mph by the end of the game. The winds will be pointing towards left infield and these winds will have a decent effect on how far out fly balls will travel.
The Cyclones finish their series against the BlueClaws on Sunday at 2pm EST. The temperature will be at 78 degrees with humidity at about 68%. It will be partly cloudy at the start of the game and those clouds will start to pass through by the late innings. Winds will be pointing to center infield with winds starting very low and increasing to about 10 mph up at 150ft. This may have some effects on ball motion. It will be a very mild afternoon for spectators especially with the sun being out.
Hudson Valley Renegades
The Renegades take on the Rome Emperors for the weekend series at home. Tonights game at 7:05pm EST will be a pretty mild one with temperatures starting in the low 80s and cooling down to the mid 70s. The humidity will start low for the first few innings but increase to about 65% by the final innings. Winds will be very calm and will start by pointing infield but shifting to left baseline by the middle to late innings. Cloud coverage will be minimal and will Bec come very clear by the end of the game. Overall a pretty nice evening!
Saturday evening the Renegades will face the Emperors at 5:05pm EST. It will be a pretty humid and mild night with temperatures in the higher 70s and humidity increasing throughout the game. Winds will be pretty calm with winds in the single digits even at 150ft. The winds will be pointing towards the outfield but will have minimal effect on the ball motion. It will be mostly cloudy with a very slight chance of rain during the first few innings. However likely it will not rain and be a pretty nice evening.
On Sunday the Renegades play the Emperors at 2:05pm EST. It will be pretty hot with temperatures in the mid to high 80s. Humidity will be pretty lower around 40-50% with some clouds in the early innings but clearing by the end of the game. Winds will be very light pointing towards the right baseline. This will be a great afternoon game if you sitting in the shade away from the sun and heat!
