Baseball Forecast- 7/30/24

Some pretty hot games this week as we head into the start of August baseball. We have three of our minor league teams starting new series this week as the Yankees continue to play in Philadelphia. Let’s take a swing at the forecast!



New York Yankees

Tonight the Yankees continue their away series against the Phillies in Philadelphia at 6:40pm EDT. Temperatures will start in the mid 80s and decrease to the upper 70s by the end of the game. Humidity starts in the 50% area and will increase to 70%. Cloud coverage will be mostly cloudy and the start of the game will be exceptionally cloudy. Winds will start higher around 12mph and decrease to around 8mph at the end of the game at the surface. At 150ft winds will be about 5mph stronger than at the surface. Winds will be pointing towards left field which will help get those balls out further.

Ballpark Forecast for Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park

The Yankees take on the Phillies Wednesday afternoon at 12:35pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the low 80s with humidity about 65%. Cloud coverage will be around 70% which will keep it from being too hot from the sun. Winds will be about 10mph at the surface and around 15mph at 150ft. Winds will be slowly decreasing as the game continues pointing out towards left field. Hopefully this will help move the balls outward for the Yankees!

Biloxi Shuckers

The Shuckers begin their home series against the Rocket City Trash Pandas at 6:35pm CDT. Temperatures will in the mid 80s with humidity in the mid to upper 70%. It will be partly cloudy with cloud coverage at about 50% for the entire game. There will be very light winds at the surface but up at 150ft winds will be around 11mph. These winds will be pointing towards the infield which may slow down ball motion into the outfield. Overall a pretty hot and humid evening!

Ballpark Forecast for Tuesday at MGM Park

Wednesday’s home game against the Trash Pandas takes place at 6:35pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s with humidity starting at about 75% and increasing to near 83% by the final innings. Cloud coverage will be very light with clearing skies for the game. Winds will be light at the surface and around 7mph at 150ft towards the left baseline. Still a very humid evening with hot temperatures.

Ballpark Forecast for Wednesday at MGM Park

Thursday night at 6:35pm CDT the Shuckers continue their series against the Trash Pandas. Another hot evening with temperatures in the mid 80s. Humidity will be around 75% for most of the game. Cloud coverage will be around 50% for the game. Winds will be around 5mph at the surface and around 10mph at 150ft. These winds will be pointed towards the left outfield. It will be another moist and mild night.

Hudson Valley Renegades

The Renegades host the Jersey Shore BlueClaws at home at 6:35pm EDT. Temperatures will start at around 85 degrees and decrease to around 77 degrees by the final innings. Humidity will be around 50% for the first half of the game with cloud coverage at around 38%. By the final innings humidity will be around 70% with cloud coverage at 45%. Winds at the surface will be around 7mph and at 150ft winds will be around 15mph. Winds will be facing the left foul line.

Ballpark Forecast for Tuesday at Heritage Financial Field

Wednesday’s game against the BlueClaws starts off at 12:05pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s with humidity at around 87%. It will be a pretty cloudy afternoon with cloud coverage at about 75%. There might be some slight scattered showers during batting practice but that should clear by game time. Winds will start around 10mph and decrease to around 6mph by the end of the game. The winds will be pointing towards left field which will help carry the ball out that way.

Thursday at 6:35pm EDT the Renegades play the BlueClaws. Temperature will be at 90 degrees for batting practice and decreasing to around 82 degrees by the final innings. Humidity will be around 50% for the first few innings but increase to nearly 70% by the end of the game. Cloud coverage will start around 44% and clear to about 6% by the end of the game. Winds will be very light at the surface and at 150ft winds will be around 7mph pointing towards center field. A pretty hot evening with increasing humidity.

Mississippi Braves

The M-Braves take on the Tennessee Smokies at 6:35pm CDT at home. Temperatures will be very hot with temperatures during batting practice will be around 90 degrees and by the final innings it will be around 85 degrees. Humidity will start low for the first few innings at around 60% and increase to 80% by the middle innings. It will be mostly clear with almost no wind. A pretty hot evening!

Ballpark Forecast for Tuesday at Trustmark Park

Wednesday’s game against the Smokies at 6:35pm CDT will be another hot evening. Temperatures will start in the low 90s and only slightly cool to the mid 80s as the evening continues. Humidity will gradually increase throughout the game from 60% up to almost 80%. Clouds will be few with almost no winds. The increase of humidity will make the evening very hot and moist.

Ballpark Forecast for Wednesday at Trustmark Park

Thursday night’s game at 6:35pm CDT will be against the Smokies at home for the M-Braves. Temperatures will be similar to the past few days in the upper 80s. Humidity will start around 65% and increase to nearly 80%. There will be some clouds in the sky but not many with cloud coverage at around 20%. Winds will be almost none with the air slowly rising. This means ball motion might be slightly better but conditions will be muggy and hot.
