A rainy weekend from the North to the South as we close out some long series. Across the board we are watching some rain chances and even thunderstorms for some games. A lot of chances for delays and cancelations so let’s dive into the details!
New York Yankees
Tonight the Yankees start a new series in Detroit against the Tigers at 6:40pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the low 80s to start and decrease to the upper 70s by the final innings. Humidity will start around 65% and increase throughout the game and get up to nearly 80% by the end of the game. Cloud coverage will start around 30% and steadily increase to around 55%. We will be watching some showers in the area for the start of the game that could delay the game start depending on how strong the rain is. Winds at the surface will be around 5mph and at 150ft they will be around 9mph and increase to 12mph by the final innings. The winds will start pointing out towards right field and slowly shift closer to center field as the game continues. Just be prepared for some rain showers for this game.
Saturday afternoon the Yankees continue their away series against the Tigers at 1:10pm EDT. Temperatures will be around 75 degrees with humidity at around 75%. It will be cloudy with rain showers in the area for the scheduled game time. These showers are expected to stay in the area for the entire scheduled game time which may mean a delay or rain postponement. AT the surface we will see winds around 5mph to start and decrease to around 3/4mph. At 150ft winds will start around 9mph and will decrease to around 6mph for the middling innings and then increase again up to around 8mph for the final innings. These winds will be pointing towards right field. Be prepared for some game changes if the rain is significantly falling or if they end up being light showers they may play through it which means bringing a rain jacket to the game!
The series against the Tigers closes out on Sunday night at 7:10pm EDT. Temperatures will be in the low 70s with humidity around 82%. It will be cloudy with showers in the area during the scheduled start of the game. However these showers will be moving out of the area during the expected middle innings. Winds at the surface will be around 8mph and at 150ft they will be around 15mph. These winds will be pointing towards home plate and since they are fairly strong at 150ft they might keep fly balls more infield. Be sure to keep updated for the chance of a game delay which is quite possible considering the showers will be moving out not long after the scheduled game start.
Biloxi Shuckers
Tonight two of our teams the Shuckers and M-Braves continue their series in Biloxi at 6:35pm CDT. Temperatures will start in the upper 80s and cool down to the low 80s by the final innings. Humidity will start around 70% and increase to about 80% during the game. Cloud coverage will be around 55-60% for the game with no big chances of rain. Winds at the surface will be around 5mph while at 150ft they will be around 7 to 8 mph. The wind will be pointing towards center field which will help give fly balls a little extra momentum.
The Shuckers continue to play the M-Braves on Saturday at 6:05pm CDT. Temperatures will be in the upper to mid 80s with humidity between 65-70%. Cloud coverage will be around 50% with no precipitation in the area. Winds at the surface will be around 5mph and at 150ft they will be around 9mph. These winds will be pointing towards right center field. A pretty hot evening for anyone attending the game!
Sunday the Shuckers close out their home series against our M-Braves at 5:05pm CDT. Temperatures will be around 90 degrees. Humidity will start around 60% and creep up to around 65% by the end of the game. It will be partly cloudy with cloud coverage around 40%. We will be looking at scattered thunderstorms in the region. As of now none are super close to the stadium but if some get within 10 miles of the stadium, postponements or cancelations will occur. Winds will be around 10mph to start the game and die down to around 8mph in the later innings at the surface. At 150ft winds will start at around 18mph and decrease to around 14mph. These stronger winds will be pointing towards right field and may help boost some fly balls especially in the earlier innings and during batting practice. Be sure to monitor the local weather the day of the game to check in on those scattered thunderstorms and game time updates.
Hudson Valley Renegades
The Renegades continue their series against the Hickory Crawdads tonight at 7:05pm EDT. Temperatures will start in the upper 80s and slowly cool to the mid 70s by the end of the game. Humidity will be around 60% for the first few innings but linger around 70% for the rest of the game. Cloud coverage will be around 50% with no potential for rain. Winds at the surface will be light while up at 150ft they will start around 6mph and increase to around 9mph. These winds will start pointing towards center field and shift out towards right field as the game progresses. A fairly humid evening for spectators and players alike!
On Saturday the Renegades play the Crawdads at 5:05pm EDT. Temperatures will start in the upper 70s and slightly cool to the mid 70s by the end of the game. Humidity will be slowly increasing starting around 53% and getting up to 63%. Cloud coverage will be around 70% with a good chance of showers coming to the area towards the later innings and for folks leaving the game. Winds at the surface will be around 7mph and up at 150ft winds will be around 13mph. Winds will be pointing towards right field which will be beneficial to left handed batters looking for a few extra feet on their fly balls. If attending the game come prepared for some rain showers as you head home.
The Renegades finish their series against the Crawdads at 2:05pm EDT. The temperature will be around 80 degrees with humidity around 64%. It will be cloudy with rain showers in the area. There will also be some isolated thunderstorms in the region which could lead to a postponement of the game. These showers are likely to remain in the area throughout the scheduled game time and the chance for thunderstorms will greatly increase especially towards the end of our scheduled game time. Winds at the surface will be around 7mph and at 150ft winds will be around 13mph. These winds will be pointing towards right field. Don’t be surprised to see this game maybe played earlier in the day or cancelled due to rain as our chance for showers at this point is high.
