Baseball Forecast- 8/20/24

Some cooler temperatures for our Northeast teams as we finally see some nicer weather. As for our M-Braves down south, temperatures will be remain quite hot but with much lower humidity. Let’s get into the details!



New York Yankees

Tonight the Yankees start a home series against the Cleveland Guardians at 7:05pm EDT. Temperatures will start in the lower 70s and decrease to the mid 60s. Humidity will start around 50% and slightly increase to around 57% by the final innings. Skies will be pretty clear while winds at the surface will be around 6mph. At 150ft winds will be around 13mph pointing towards right field. These winds might help move balls out towards right field.

Ballpark Forecast for Tuesday at Yankee Stadium

The Yankees play the Guardians at 7:05pm EDT Wednesday night. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s with humidity starting around 50% and increasing throughout the game to about 65%. there will be clear skies with winds at the surface around 3-5mph. At 150ft winds will start around 11 mph and decrease to around 9mph by the middle innings. These winds will be pointing towards right center field. A cooler evening so bring a light jacket especially if sitting in the higher levels.

These winds will be pointing towards right center field. An overall really cool night to watch some baseball!

Brooklyn Cyclones

The Cyclones start a home series against the BlueClaws tonight at 7pm EDT. Temperatures will be cooler starting out at around 73 degrees and dropping to the upper 60s by the end of the game. Humidity will start around 47% and increase to about 55%. Cloud coverage will be higher in the first few innings, around 70% and the decrease to about 20% for the rest of the game. Winds at the surface will be around 10-12mph and at 150ft winds will be between 13-16mph with the strongest winds in the middle innings. These winds will be pointing towards right field and may help propel ball motion out in the direction. A pretty cool evening so maybe bring that light sweater to this game!

Wednesday the Cyclones take on the BlueClaws at 7pm EDT. Temperatures will start in the low 70s and cool down to the upper 60s. Humidity will be around 50% throughout the game. Cloud coverage will start round 50% but decrease to around 25% by the end of the game. Winds at the surface will be around 10mph and at 150ft winds will be around 15mph. The winds will be pointing towards right field. The winds will help bring fly balls further outfield.
