For some folks, the rains continue this morning. Most of it is light – and probably a bit annoying, given how chilly it is outside – and flooding isn’t a concern this morning, but get ready to use the windshield wipers as you head out the door.
For those who aren’t getting rain, you are still chilly! Temperatures are in the 30s and 40s, depending on your location. A far cry from the low 70s yesterday afternoon.
The rain will be off and on today as it continues to glide overhead. The region is stuck between a trough and a ridge. It is a similar situation that brought the area all the snow in December of 2017. The difference is the trough isn’t as far to the south across Texas.
And the temperatures aren’t as cold, either.
But man, that is how rare it is to get snow on a day like that! It may also explain why we were only forecasting an inch or two at best. This is a pattern than happens occasionally and rarely produces snow. But when it does, and all the ingredients are there, whew! Can it snow!
But enough snow talk….
The forecast moving forward is drier and cooler. We will have a few nights around the freezing mark and highs will be in the 40s and 50s for a few days.
