Today will be a ‘tweener’ day, in that it is ‘between’ the rainy patter we’ve been seeing and the drier pattern that will be working its way into the area. For the most part, today should remain dry, but I will keep a 30-percent ‘courtesy’ chance for rain in the forecast. I’d grab the umbrella as you head out, but I wouldn’t worry much about needing it.
Then the drier air starts to win over the region. And win again. And win again.
The rest of the week (including Friday night football) look fantastic. The weekend looks good, too. It will be drier and mild with temperatures running about 3F to 6F above average. Overnight lows and humidity will be the main areas that will keep it from ‘feeling’ very Autumn-like.
As we get into next week, it looks like a cold front may try to push into the area. As it does, we will see a bump in the chances for rain. Right now, though, there is some question about if it will actually make it all the way into the region. The ridge of higher pressure that is building into the area is going to be pretty stout.
