Drier weather sticks around, PM storms return next week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 4/27/22

Drier weathercontinues for the area. Not much ‘weather’ to report. And, hey, I’m not mad about that!

The water vapor imagery shows a splotch of drier air aloft today that will likely mix down during the day to help keep the humidity down. You may think, the north wind is what is keeping the region from bering muggy, but in this case it isn’t! In fact, even with a south wind today, there would still be enough vertical mixing with the drier air aloft to keep the humidity down.

During the next few days, as the wind flips to the south and starts to pull in from the Gulf, we will start to moisten things up and increase the humidity – both at the surface and aloft.

Once we moisten things up, that is when better chances for rain start to sneak into the area. But even at that point w are talking about day-to-day afternoon storms with a low threat for any severe weather.

Plus we will have to start watching for clusters of storms from the north diving south toward the Gulf.
