Everybody REALLY Loves the Sunshine

I’m back after a year and I’m still making music puns!

So what’s in store for the upcoming week? Well, I definitely have good news! The rain has passed and the clouds will be clearing so you can finally see the sunshine after nothing but rain this past weekend. Does this mean we’re in the clear for anymore crazy storms coming through? Well, we’re not quite there yet…

Two shortwaves, the one southwest will die while the one in the north gave us all the rain

For anyone wondering what’s been going on since early Spring with all of these crazy storm systems bringing in severe weather, during the early Spring we started transitioning into a more active pattern with shortwave troughs.

What does this mean?

Well, these systems aren’t as extreme when it comes to fluctuating temperatures such as what we saw in the winter, but these systems can develop frequently over the Rockies or even the Pacific and as they move through the atmosphere, they can change their orientation and cause a major changing of the winds making for favorable conditions for severe weather. Anyway, what’s the good news for your week?

Here’s your dry off!

Well, as the front that brought in all the rain has passed, another shortwave tries to move in but dies out before it hits Texas meaning we won’t get anymore rain during the middle of the week. What we’ll get instead is a bunch of dry air from the Great Plains keeping conditions much sunnier and warmer overall. You might have noticed some of that change today after the clouds moved out.

Now I mentioned that there is another chance for rain coming up, but don’t worry! This isn’t a problem until the end of the coming weekend, so all I can say is keep track of the upcoming forecast as they’re subject to change since our data becomes more accurate the closer we get to the day.

So, bottom line: Expect warm temperatures and sunshine for almost all of your week!
