Few shots for rain during the next seven days: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 12/16/21

We still have a front that looks to swing through o Saturday and then a nother system tries to press through the area next week. On top of that, we may see some pre-frontal rain tomorrow.

Not much has changed with the forecast during the last few days. I know a lot of folks have weekend plans, so here is a quick breakdown of when precip is most likely to fall.

Friday 12p – Passing clouds with a 10-percent chance for rain
Friday 4p – Passing clouds with a 20-percent chance for rain
Friday 8p – Passing clouds with a 30-percent chance for rain

Saturday 8a – Cloudy with a 20-percent chance for rain
Saturday 12p – Cloudy with a 40-percent chance for rain
Saturday 4p- Cloudy with a 50-percent chance for rain
Saturday 8p – Cloudy with a 30-percent chance for rain

Sunday 8a – Mostly cloudy with a a 10-percent chance for rain
Sunday 12p – Mostly cloudy with no chance for rain
Sunday 4p – Partly cloudy with no chance for rain
Sunday 8p – Partly cloudy with no chance for rain

Hopefully that helps. IT does look like the front should roll through Saturday afternoon/evening with the best chance for rain between about 12p and 8p.

The next system actually is set to glide by to the south on Monday and Tuesday.

This will be cruising from west to east across the Gulf. If the atmosphere were set up a bit differently, this would typically be an ideal set up for snow in December along the Gulf Coast! But this year, it has been too warm and there are no shots of cold air to be found. So, it will just be regular rain.

You can see the temperatures are going to be way too warm for any kind of wintry precip.

Beyond that, things dry out again.
