High pressure will continue to hang with us for the next few days. That will keep skies mostly clear and overnight lows reasonably comfortable. That this should hold all the way through Friday, which means your Friday night football games should feel like Football Weather
With high pressure in control, the weather will be rather pleasant for the next few days. But that same ridging may eventually be something worth watching for more than just nice weather. As we monitor what happens with Invest 96L.
The next potential tropical system is set to move toward the Caribbean during the next few days, and will likely slide by the islands. The hurricane models move it across the northern tier of the Leeward Islands.
Other model guidance, from the global ensembles, suggests a similar track.
As it gets toward the Bahamas, the placement of the ridging and the level of organization of 95L will dictate where it goes at this point. A more organized and farther west ridge, will allow 96L to move more northward. A farther east ridge and a less organized 96L, and 96L will have a higher chance to drift into the Gulf.
But that is still more than seven days away. And plenty can change and happen between now and then. For the moment, the National Hurricane Center is holding the ‘medium’ chance for development during the next five days.
