Hot and dry weather expected throughout weekend and the first half of the work week: SW Mississippi forecast – 7/16/22

For the next 7 days, the forecast is much of the same: hot and dry.

The weekend highs are forecast to be in the lower 90s. The heat index will be up, though, being around 100 both today and Sunday. The rain chances are pretty slim, too.

The conditions do not improve much over the course of the work week. In fact, the temperatures may get hotter as a ridge begins to form across the South. The temperatures are expected to peak around Wednesday, with the heat index potentially reaching as high as 105. The rain chances Monday through Thursday remain very slim.

The best chance for rain appears to be Friday, where the environment is more favorable for convection. Scattered thunderstorms could be possible on this day. The heat remains in place, though, with heat indexes continuing to hover above 100.
