It’s the New Mother Nature Taking Over – Forecast for 8/8 – 8/15

Welcome to this bittersweet forecast discussion presented by myself and Noah! It brings me such sadness to say that this is our last duo discussion. As the summer comes to an end and our team of interns begins our journey’s elsewhere, it’s time for us to say our goodbyes. While I will continue on for another week or so, this is the last joint one that I’ll have the pleasure of sharing with Noah. We’re giving everything to this discussion and we hope that it finds you well. I’ll be doing my usual and giving you a short term look at what to expect tonight and the next 3 days; while Noah gives you the grand finale to close out the week. Enjoy!

Tonight:

We’ll see scattered showers that move out of the coast and into the Hattiesburg area, nothing severe but we should see rain tonight. Temperatures seems to hold at 91 throughout the evening. It’ll be fair weather and rather nice for a night to view the sunset. If you didn’t get the chance to view some of the planets visible yesterday, tonight we should expect fairly clear skies so you might still be able to catch a glimpse.

Tomorrow:

Time 7 a.m. 10 a.m. 1 p.m. 4 p.m. 7 p.m.
Weather Scattered Clouds Cloudy Broken Clouds Scattered Clouds Scattered Clouds
Temperature 76 84 87 86 82
Wind SW @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph SE @ 5-10 mph

Expect a high of 91 with a low of 75. A 30% chance of rain sits throughout the day and we’ll have high level as well as some low level clouds like we’ve seen in the past few days.

Friday August 10th:

  • Expect a high temperature of 90 with a low of 74, with a 40% chance of rain in the mid to late afternoon. Take some time to enjoy the light cloud coverage with the sun still shining down but be ready in the event that the rain heads your direction.

Saturday August 11th:

  • Expect a high temperature of 90 with a low of 73, rain chances are still holding at 40% but likely to occur in the mid-day into the afternoon. Cloud coverage will be spotty with the occasional storm cloud moving through but the morning looks promising for clear weather and sunny skies.

I’ll toss it over to Noah to finish out the week, thanks for reading ya’ll!

It’s been a busy but good summer working and going to my internship. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Emily during my whole internship and she and I have both fed off each other and worked together to make some good forecasts and become friends as well. Here’s the forecast for the latter portion of your week.

The dog days of summer are here, y’all. The rain will cool us off just by a little, but then it’s back to hot temperatures with a stray thunderstorm to make it muggy outside. The front has passed by Sunday and the leftover boundaries and sea breezes are going to pop up the thunderstorms when we have our lower chances and higher temperatures.

Sunday – The last of the front will give us the chance of rain in the afternoon, but otherwise mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies until then. High of 91 and a low of 72 with winds from the Northwest at 5-10 mph.

Monday – Some leftover clouds will give us hope for more rain, but most likely won’t happen until we experience a sea breeze or boundary in the afternoon. High of 92 and a low of 73 with winds moving from the North Northwest at 5-10 mph.

Tuesday – The heat comes kicking down the atmospheric door with a few clouds in the sky and not much relief in sight. High of 93 and a low of 74 with winds coming from the North Northwest at 5-10 mph.

Wednesday – The hot temperatures continue today with some low level clouds, but otherwise, you’ll be sweating it out or blasting your air conditioner. High of 94 and a low of 75 with winds South Southeast at 5-10 mph.

Hope y’all have a good week and play it smart!
