Part I
Good afternoon, y’all! I’m your intern Noah along with Kendall and Emily to bring your MEGACAST. We’re the 3 man (I mean one man and two women, so whatever) team here to give you the scoop on the week ahead. I’ll tell you what’s going on tonight and tomorrow so you know how to plan your day.
We’re expecting another day where the heat index is going to be in the triple digits and a heat advisory over the Pinebelt area. Whatever y’all do, please stay hydrated and find a place to cool off if you feel tired. Even tonight we need to be careful because despite the sun not being out, the ground is still warm and humid, so you’re not out of the woods in terms of being hot and sweaty. If you’re looking to go out and run or do some sort of activity, I’d advise you to not exhaust yourselves trying to get an outdoor workout or taking care of something outside. By early morning we’ll see the low go down to 75.
Tomorrow, we’ll see few clouds throughout the day until the later afternoon. At 10 in the morning, expect the temperature to be in the mid-80’s with that somewhat overwhelming humid feel. You feel the sun on you, it’s not too hot for you not to want to go out, but you’ll feel it after doing a little work outside for an hour or so. By 1 o’clock, temperatures will break the 90’s and will get the overwhelming feel as the heat index will break into the 100’s. By 4, we’ll reach our high of 94 and we can’t cut out the chance for possible rain in small defined areas around that time. Around 7, we’re still experiencing a little bit of heat even as the sun goes down, so I can’t stress enough that you keep water and a drink with electrolytes with you as you take care of work or are out doing some sort of recreational activity. After the sun goes down, we’ll still see temperatures in the 80’s so no matter what you do throughout the day tomorrow, it’s going to be warm.

I’ll hand it over to Emily and Kendall to handle the rest!
Part II
Thanks for that look at tonight and tomorrow Noah! It’s so nice to have the other interns in here to help me out! I’ll take it from here as we move into looking at Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Friday June 29th: Expect a high temperature of 94 and a low of 76. We’ll see overcast through most of the day with a 40% chance of rain across the area with southwest winds at 5-10 mph.
Saturday June 30th: Expect a high temperature of 93 and a low of 75. We’ll find overcast yet again and remain holding onto the 40% chance of rain to drown out some robust heat. Winds will be scarce if not non-existent.
Looking into Sunday and even Monday, we interns found an interesting connection between a front that looks to come out of the northwest but according to the European data, there is also a mild tropical system that seems to run into the front and loses its strength off of the coast of Louisiana before regaining strength as the bottom tail of the front pushes the system into the Texas border. This explains some of the rain in the area as well as the interesting weather chances as we move forward.
Sunday July 1st: Expect a high temperature of 92 and a low 75. We’ll expect a 50% of rain and thunderstorms around the area with southeastern winds at 5-10 mph.
Kendall it’s all yours!
Part III
Howdy! It is Kendall with the forecast for Monday through Wednesday of next week. On Monday, July 2nd, the area can expect a low of 74° in the early morning hours. By mid-day, the temperature should heat up to 91°. There is a storm brewing over parts of Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, leaving us with a 60% chance for storms in the afternoon. On Tuesday, there is a low of 72° as the storm cools off the area. The high will reach 91° with a 50% chance of rain. Evening winds could reach around 20 mph.
If you have plans for 4th of July, I highly encourage you to keep the forecast in mind as we progress through next week. As of right now, I project about a 40% chance of rain, with a high of 91° and a low of 73°. Of course, this forecast is preliminary and subject to change as the week progresses.
As always, thank you so much for reading our forecast, and have a fantastic week!
