Marble racing is the new sport amid Coronavirus

You read that correctly. Marble racing.

And yes, this is really a thing. In fact, it is more of a “thing” than even I realized when I stumbled across a race on youtube the other day.

That’s right. NFL players are now tweeting about this stuff.

What is Marble Racing?

Just 9.8 m/s^2 with a little F=MA

That’s all. Force equals mass times acceleration. And perhaps that is the best part. It isn’t about “who is better” as much as it is complete chance based on physics.

No, no, Nick, we mean WHAT is Marble Racing?

Oh! Well, I don’t ahve an answer for that. But it is oddly hypnotic. And with the lack of other, actual, sports, I’ve got to say it is reasonably entertaining. Plus, if you have kids, a great way to pass the time while they are out of school. And – bonus! – it is also a science experiment!
