Maybe some drizzle tomorrow, otherwise dry through Thursday: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 9/30/24

Through Tuesday, a persistent upper-level low over the Tennessee River Valley is slowly shifting northeast, with part of it breaking off and forming a trough over the Lower Mississippi River Valley tonight. Meanwhile, surface high pressure over central areas of the U.S. is bringing in drier air, keeping weather conditions calm.

There is the slightest of slight chances for rain tomorrow afternoon, but having an umbrella nearby should be fine, I doubt it’ll actually get any use.

Things should remain mostly dry tomorrow and Wednesday. Then on Thursday, tropical moisture will move in from the Gulf, increasing the shot for some rain, especially south of I-20. But it looks like things should start to dry out by this weekend. Friday night football, for some folks, may be a bit damp – but I think they get all the games in fine.

Looking out into the tropics, we have a pretty active map!

There’s a system with a 40% chance of developing out into the Gulf or NW Caribbean during the next seven days. Models are in agreement about the system’s presence, but specifics are still being resolved. The Euro has delayed development by a few days and the GEFS has, too. We are still in “wait and see” mode.

All of the other spots on teh map should steer clear of the Gulf and not bother us.
