MCS Season continues with multiple rounds of rain possible: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 6/4/24

Today’s weather remains uncertain with clouds and possibly some showers continuing into the morning. The atmosphere likely needs time to recover after last night’s storms so, while there is a shot for some afternoon storms, I think we may have to wait until this evening when another MCS pushes through.

For the rest of the week, high pressure over the southeastern U.S. will maintain moisture in our area, leading to daily rain and storm chances. From Wednesday onwards, several rounds of storms are expected due to high moisture levels and favorable wind conditions. A weather system on Wednesday could bring organized storms with damaging winds.

However, there is some uncertainty about the exact timing and strength of these systems, so the forecast may change as we gather more information. Then we hold the shot for rain on Thursday and Friday as a cold front moves south, potentially bringing more storm complexes, especially in the southwest. If the front stalls, lingering moisture could lead to more storms.

After the front passes on Saturday, drier air will reduce storm chances, but moisture might return on Sunday, bringing back the chance for rain and storms as high pressure shifts east. Early next week, a cool front is likely to bring below-normal temperatures and drier conditions, giving us a more spring-like feel. Stay tuned for updates and keep your weather alerts on, especially today and tomorrow, as we continue to monitor these systems.
