Mild and humid through Friday, cold front Saturday: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast 12/9/21

I’ve still got eyes on the cold front set to move through the area Satruday morning. Until then, things will be cloudy, mild and a bit breezy. Well, the wind won’t likely pick up until tomorrow, today it will probably be a bit more foggy than breezy.

But the main weather-maker during the next 72 hours is going to be the cold front, set to move through the area early Saturday morning. The good news, right now, is that there doesn’t appear to be much of a potential for severe weather across the Southern MS/AL/LA region.

I ran the Karrie Meter and it is underwhelmed.

For this go-around it looks like the biggest risk for severe weather will be to the north and up into the mid-Mississippi River valley. Places like Memphis, Paducah and Evansville. Even as far east as Nashville.

Once this front blows through, things cool down for a few days, but nothing Arctic or Polar. So for you Winter Lovers out there, you’ll have to wait another week (likely two or more) for any truly cooler air to settle into the region.
