Expect warm, humid conditions today. There are a few showers north of I-20 this morning, and we may see a few patches of rain here and there – as well as some fog. While this fog should lift by mid-morning, be aware that it’s likely to re-form late Tuesday night into early Wednesday in similar areas. Additional showers are possible later today and tonight north of I-20 again.
And honestly, this pattern will likely hold for a few days. Generally mild. A bit foggy in the morning and the chance for a stray shower north of I-20. Wednesday night, late, we should see the front finally start to muscle through the region.
By Thursday and into Friday we will start to cool down and dry out as the front finally kicks through. Then we will hang around in the seasonably chilly air for the pre-Christmas weekend. But just as we get used to that, things will start to warm up as we head toward Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
So far, the forecast for Christmas from back in November still holds: About 40F Christmas morning, then about 60F for a high with a 20-to-30 percent shot for rain. Though, I will say things look a bit drier for Christmas this morning. And perhaps slightly warmer.
Worth monitoring for specifics, but we are to the point where we can pretty much rule out the threat for severe weather. And we can definitely rule out snow.
