Nice weather for 4th of July, hot and humid temperatures throughout the rest of the work week, increased rain chances on Saturday: SE MS/ SW AL – 7/3/22

As we finish off the weekend, we can expect temperatures in the high 80s with a slight chance of rain in the afternoon. The highs are not expected to get above 90 today or Monday. This should make for good weather for the Fourth of July, provided you don’t get caught in a stray pop up storm.

Unfortunately for those tired of the heat, another ridge is expected to form Monday over the Southeast and remain there for the rest of the work week. This ridging will mean more hot temperatures.

The heat is expected to make it into the mid 90s in some places. Even worse, the heat index could top 100 on some days, maybe even reaching 105 on the hottest days. This means those of you planning outdoor activities should use caution, especially in the afternoon. Staying hydrated is key.

The ridge is expected to start moving out of the area on Saturday. Additionally, the chance for rain and storms increases significantly on Saturday. This will no doubt be a relief to the heat if this forecast holds.
