NOAA 2017 Hurricane Season prediction one week away

From NOAA:

“NOAA will announce its initial outlook for the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season during a news conference on May 25 in College Park, Md. In addition to the seasonal prediction, speakers also will discuss forecasting improvements at NOAA’s National Hurricane Center this year and provide information about how the public can prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, which begins June 1.”

Colorado State already released their own prediction. A quick excerpt from their discussion:

“The CSU Tropical Meteorology Project team is predicting 11 named storms during the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30. Of those, researchers expect four to become hurricanes and two to reach major hurricane strength (Saffir/Simpson category 3-4-5) with sustained winds of 111 miles per hour or greater.”
