I’ve been trying to just skim over the fact that it is going to be so hot today and tomorrow, hoping that model guidance would come back slightly cooler, but no dice!
Buckle up, today, friends. It going to be hot. Same with tomorrow.
The big ridge of high pressure that has been in place will stay in place in the coming days. While it will shimmy around and eventually loosen its grip a bit as we close out this week, it will still allow us to tag the 90s nearly every day through the weekend.
By Friday the map will look a bit cooler. Ridging will start to slide west as two systems glide by to the north.
Then all eyes turn to what may – or may not – be brewing in the tropics.
Invest 98L is sitll the top priority for folks stateside. That is the red area down in the Caribbean. That is a wave that will be moving into and through the Caribbean as we move through the week. So far it continues to look rather disorganized – and close to land.
Notice how close to South America it is. Unless it starts gaining latitude quickly, it may have a very short life. And all of this interest may be for nothing. Model guidance, though, does suggest that this will gain latitude and eventually organize.
How much and where it will eventually go are still TBD.
