Quick shot for showers Saturday, then cooler and drier next week: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 12/14/23

We are still looking at the shot for some rain to roll through the area on Saturday. But aside from that, things are looking pretty good during the next seven days

The animation above is the GFS computer weather model showing rain showers moving through during the day with no real risk for severe weather.

And once this passes, through things calm down for the next few days. In fact, most of next week looks calm. And seasonably cool.

Temperatures will be running near-normal during the next seven days – with the first few days running below normal and hte last few days running above normal, as we get closer to Christmas.

The latest model guidance has slowed down the arrival of the next system until after Christmas. Originally, just a few days ago, most of the model guidance wanted to bring another shot for showers and storms into the area around Christmas Eve. Now it look slike that may hold off until the day after Christmas.

There is still plenty of time for things to shake out, but given the holiday, it is something I’ll be watching closely for everyone.
