A brief break from the rain this morning, before more chances for rain this afternoon. The showers and storms possible this afternoon will be just regular, run-of-the-mill Mississippi storms. They may feature some loud thunder and some lightning, but the threat for severe weather is very low.
On top of that, the threat for flash flooding is on the lower-end of the scale, too. Even with how wet the ground is right now. So that is also good news.
Storms will be pretty spotty and rainfall totals through this afternoon shouldn’t exceed 1″ or 2″ anywhere across the area.
More rain tomorrow morning here and there before a – much deserved – dry out begins as we move into and through the weekend.
