Welp, Sub-Tropical Storm Ana formed since the last update.
Two pieces of good news, though. The first is that Ana poses no meaningful threat for the United States. The second is that the little area in the Gulf is now over Texas and will not develop into anything at all.
In fact, model guidance is showing a bit of a low-key very-short-term drought for South Mississippi over the next two weeks with less than a quarter of an inch of rain across the area. After the last six months of wet, I know a lot of people will be enjoying the ability to dry out.
I still think by the end of next week another system will march through the area, despite no data out there to support it. Call it a hunch, I guess? But outside of that, things are looking pretty dry for Mississippians south of I-20 and east of I-55.
