South Mississippi Forecast 7/2/21

All eyes are on Hurricane Elsa in the Caribbean. Currently the forecast track takes the system toward Florida as it curves around a ridge of high pressure in the Atlantic.

Around here, afternoon showers and storms will continue with the very humid airmass in place. A front looks to arrive by Sunday, but I’m still not confident that it makes it all the way through the area. These late-season fronts always have a difficult time making it to the coast given just how humid things are.

Things may stay soggy through the weekend and into next week.

  1. Yeah, looks like hot and humid is the name of the game now. When do you see it cooling off … around October or so? And, you’re right, it would be a rare event for the front, and the relief it would bring, to make it this far south at this time of the year. We can still hope, right? BTW, hope you have a VERY nice, and safe, July 4th!!
