South Mississippi Forecast 8/18/21

Here is something I never had to worry about in South Mississippi. I drove all the way into work today – sat through 35 minutes of traffic – and realized as I reached for the door that I forgot my badge. At WDAM, I did this occasionally, but it was no big deal because there were only so many of us at the station. It isn’t like people were going to look at me and go, “who is THAT guy?”

But in Houston, at a building with 40-something floors and thousands of people going in and out of the office constantly, no one knows who I am.

So! I’m coming to you LIVE! from the lobby of my office building in downtown Houston!

Why? I’m sitting in the lobby waiting for my office to actually open. The other hurdle is that my day starts around 530am. The office opens at 7am. And unless you have a badge, y’aint gettin’ in!

Let me tell you, friends. There are a lot of things that you can take for granted when you live in Mississippi. Lots of trees. Plenty of nice folks. Not that much traffic. Low cost of living.

And you rarely have to wait for 90 minutes for an office to open because you were a dummy and forgot your badge!

The nice thing is it does allow me some extra time to look over the forecast.

So, let me do somethin’ while I’m doin’ nuthin’!

  1. I suppose driving back home, getting the badge, then driving to work is out of the question because traffic would worsen?
