South Mississippi Forecast 8/31/21

Back to normal, I suppose! As Ida moves out, do know it will be rather humid when the wind dies down today. The west wind will hopefully continue to usher in slightly – and I do mean slightly! – drier air. In the wake of Ida, there will still be a chance for a few afternoon storms today and tomorrow in the area.

High pressure will try to take over across the region as we close out this week and head into the weekend. It looks like Mississippi will be on the periphery of the ridge, though. Being that the area will be on the edge, I’ve left about a 10-percent chance for rain in the forecast each day.

As we head toward your holiday weekend, it looks like the possibility for afternoon showers will continue with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Graphical Forecast

No graphical forecast today, I’m still working through some issues with it. It worked great for a month or two, but it looks like in my attempts to “make it better” I, sort of, broke it.

But it will make a comeback! Soon!

In the meantime, here is the 5-day forecast grabbed from the National Weather Service in Jackson. Not perfect, and a bit different than my forecast in a few places, but it’ll do for today.
