Southern Mississippi forecast 5/11/21

This rainy pattern is going to continue for a few more days. Showers and storms will be possible today and tomorrow before things start to dry out and stay dry through the weekend. Looks like the Storm Prediction Center has continued the Marginal Risk for severe weather for today.

The Marginal Risk is a ‘blanket risk’ across the Gulf Coast as the next little system scoots through the region. The main concern for storms will be heavy rain, frequent lightning, and wind gusts up to 60mph. There may be a few storms with small hail, but the potential is pretty low. And while a tornado can’t be completely rules out, the threat for tornadoes is very low.

The Weather Prediction Center is holding onto a Marginal Risk for Flash flooding across the area during the day today and tomorrow, too. There is still a lower risk for widespread flooding, but localized flash flooding, where the water comes up and covers some roads and sneaks into some backyards, looks possible.

  1. ‘Rainy pattern will continue’ … don’t you ever get tired of having to type those words seemingly everyday? Phoenix, AZ is REALLY looking good right now. Wonder if I would ask a favor. Under the pictures where you show where the rain is at a certain time, could you put the day/time that it is for? If it’s a hassle, don’t worry about it. Again, THANK YOU for the daily updates … worth their weight in gold!
