Southern MS / AL / LA Weather Forecast – 10/5/21

After a very soggy day for some folks yesterday, thigns are looking a bit drier today. It still looks like a few showers and storms will be possible, but for those who got dumped on yesterday, Mother Nature isn’t looking to drop as many buckets of water over the area today.

Computer weather model guidance shows some rain here and there, but much drier through tomorrow morning. And then things really start to dry out. And may stay dry for a while.

High pressure is going to build into the region from Mexico and set up shop over the area as we move through the rest of the week and into and through the weekend. And then it will start to flex as we move through next week.

This should help to turn the spigot off for a while across the region. But, because the high pressure is building into the area from Mexico, it won’t be cooler Autumn air. Instead it will feel more like early-September than mid-October.

Guidance shows above-normal temperatures (between 3F and 8F above) through next week and into next weekend. Average temperatures for the region this time of year is about 55F for lows and about 80F for a high. So the temperatures are looking like they may be closer to 60F and 85F for lows and highs as we move into next week.
